Pet of the Week Meet Summit! Summit is a male, 11 year old, Australian Shepherd/Australian Cattle Dog mix. He weighs 72 pounds. He is a bit overweight, so a good diet and regular exercise will be important for him. Summit was adopted from the shelter in 2016 and was recently surrendered by his adopter due to not having room for him in their house. He is housetrained. He will require an indoor home. He is not a barker. He is fully trained with obedience. He is friendly towards young kids. He still has a moderate activity level. He lived with 4 cats and was ok with them. He is said to enjoy agility, quiet time, car rides, fetch and walk. He will require regular brushing. He is further described as loving, social, and playful. Does ok with small dogs. Summit walks nicely on a leash and knows the "sit" command. He has a calm and gentle demeanor and is friendly and playful! He is a sweet boy and very affectionate! He likes to chase after balls and likes rope toys and soft toys. Open your heart and home to this wonderful senior boy. He is such a nice dog and you will love the time you spend together! As always, please bring in the family and other household dogs for a meet and greet prior to adoption. Our trained staff will properly introduce everyone. * UTD ON VACCINES * MICROCHIPPED * NEUTERED & READY TO GO HOME TODAY! .       .
We like to see our dogs adopted into safe homes that are a good fit for the family, the dog and with any other dogs or cats that may be in the home. We do meet and greets here at the shelter to make sure that all the dogs get along. Our adoption specialists are here to help facilitate this process. To better help us serve you, we ask that our visitors fill out a pre-adoption questionnaire. You can click on the following link to download one or fill out one here at the shelter when considering to adopt a new dog. Pre-Adoption link
