Shift Description
As an Adoption Room Guide, you’ll welcome and escort visitors through our dog adoption areas, ensuring a calm, safe, and respectful environment for both animals and guests. You'll help visitors navigate the space, remind them not to reach into kennels, and assist them in identifying pets they'd like to meet. Once a potential match is spotted, you’ll guide the guest back to the lobby and notify the front desk so a meet-and-greet can be arranged. Details: Reports to Front Desk Staff for training and shift check-in Great for volunteers who are comfortable engaging with the public Provides a critical role in supporting safe and successful adoptions Your calm, helpful presence makes a real difference—for animals and adopters alike!

We’re excited to have you join us in supporting the animals at West Valley Humane Society! To ensure the best experience for both our volunteers and staff, please review the following shift booking policy: Open Sign-Up: Volunteers may sign up for available shifts at any time in advance or up until the start of the shift. Commitment Matters: Please only sign up for shifts you are confident you can attend. Avoid booking shifts if you are unsure of your availability, so we can plan staffing and support effectively. No-Show Policy: Consistent no-shows may result in a temporary or permanent restriction on your ability to sign up for future shifts. We rely on your commitment to ensure proper care for our animals. Qualified Roles Only: Please only sign up for shifts you are currently trained and qualified for.
