Your Volunteer Coordinator

Rebekah Johnson serves as the Public Operations Manager at West Valley Humane Society and brings more than a decade of experience in animal welfare, public service, and animal rehabilitation.
Raised on a ranch, Rebekah developed a deep understanding of animal care, welfare, and veterinary medicine from an early age. Her passion for helping animals led her to establish Diamond Heart Equine, a safe haven dedicated to rehabilitating troubled, neglected, and feral horses. Through her work, she successfully trained and placed horses into equine therapy programs, creating life-changing opportunities for both horses and the people they served.
Rebekah began her career with West Valley Humane Society as an Animal Control Officer, serving with both the Nampa Police Department and the Canyon County Sheriff's Office. Known for her willingness to step in wherever needed, she quickly became recognized for her dedication to animals, her community, and the mission of animal welfare.
In 2026, Rebekah assumed the roles of Front Desk Manager and Volunteer Director, where she demonstrated exceptional leadership in volunteer engagement, public relations, and operational efficiency. Her passion for animal advocacy, equine rehabilitation, and community service continues to drive her work every day. She is committed to improving the lives of animals while promoting responsible and humane treatment throughout the community.
Outside of her professional responsibilities, Rebekah shares her life with a beloved collection of animals. Her canine companions include Brandi, an Australian Shepherd who has been her faithful companion for 13 years; Nika, a Dutch Shepherd; and Gaston Glock, a Pomeranian. She is also the proud owner of four horses: King, a Devil's Garden Mustang; Anubis, a registered Quarter Horse; Valentino, a registered Morgan; and Raven, a pony.
While balancing the demands of shelter operations and caring for her animals at home, Rebekah considers her most important role to be that of a mother. She is the proud mother of three children—Ephraim, Enzo, and Salem—who share her love and compassion for animals.
